· Do you know that in many countries women are still denied the right to vote among other injustices?

· Has the development of technology helped advance women's status?

After having listened to some women's voices and opinions, it's time we learned more about women's rights and Women's International Day.

Answer the following questions:

· When did the struggle for women's equality and justice begin?

· What did women fight for?

· When did the idea of an international women's day arise? Why did it happen at this particular time?

· What was the role of women during the French revolution?

· Have a look at the chronology of the most important events in women's history and mention 2-3 facts that seem most important to you.

· In addition to the right to vote, what other rights did women demand in Europe, as early as in 1911?

· Whose site is it? What does it reflect about the importance of the International Women's Day?

Find some more sites reflecting the situation of women today in developed, developing or even under-developed countries and write down five interesting facts. Add pictures of famous or even ordinary women who have played an important role in history.

Write a short composition on one of the following subjects.

1. Women are also makers of History. Give examples.

2. "Not all women are still equal". Write down what is meant by this sentence.
